About
A small workshop for useful add-ons
Copperwick is where Robin builds add-ons for World of Warcraft. Robin has a background in software engineering and plays the game with friends, which is where the ideas for these add-ons come from.
Why another add-on site?
Most add-ons are built over a weekend and tested in the live game. That is fine, until a patch breaks your favorite one on raid night. Copperwick add-ons are built like real products: clear goals, automated tests and careful releases.
How each add-on is built
- It starts with a written design: what problem it solves, and what it should never do.
- Offline tests run against a mock of the game's API, including a fuzzer with 10,000 random cases.
- A checker compares every game function the add-on uses with Blizzard's own UI source for each game version.
- A one-command self-test in the game collects the facts before each release.
Feedback
Found a bug or have an idea? Feedback channels will open here soon. Until then, run /grf fulltest in the game: it writes a report that makes bugs much easier to fix.
